Geonaft company together with SPE held the first online training

From May 12 to 15, a 4-day online course "Practical aspects of geomechanical modeling for solving drilling problems, hydraulic fracturing" was successfully completed.

The course was conducted by our experts in the field of geomechanics, instructors Ruslan Melikov and Artem Krasnikov. The participants were specialists from companies such as Gazpromneft STC, Geologika, VNIIneft and Nostrum oil and gas.

Most of the course was devoted to the practical aspects of geomechanical modeling. First, the participants got acquainted with the theoretical foundations of the process of creating a Geomechanical Model in Space (3D - 4D) and the functionality of the necessary software for geomechanical modeling. Further, both with the help of instructors and on their own, the course participants built geomechanical models, calculated rock and steam pressure, calculated mechanical properties and stresses and analyzed the stability of the wellbore using the Geonaft Software package. The final stage was the implementation of an independent practical task to build a geomechanical model of reference wells and a discussion of the results.

At the end of the course, each participant received an SPE Certificate of course completion.
